my name is Tara Tran. a researcher & historian - I craft and curate knowledge and learning projects for social and sustainable impact.
I completed my doctoral degree at Johns Hopkins University and conduct archival and field research on a global scale. My interest is in historical and contemporary practices of hospitality, particularly in the context of human rights, humanitarianism and development, migration policy, environmental care, and food systems.
At the moment, I’m a Senior Research Fellow with the Center for Khmer Studies. I also host Sala.
